dana 44 front

a buddy of mine has a dana 44 front axle (high pinion) with 5 lug knuckles. should i convert it to 8 lug knuckles and put it on my 98 z-71.

right now it is set up for control arms and coil springs, does anyone know of a place that can make a 5 link kit for it with air bags or coilovers

a few years ago, one of the fourwheeler mag did a series of articals on changing a ifs to straight axle. I know this isn't much help, but maybe it'll jog someones memory who can remember which mag and maybe year it was done.

The dana 44 is a passenger side pumpkin though, I know the NBS is

a drivers side pumpkin. They have to be on the right side. Or use a different transfer case.

iv'e seen the axle and it has a driver side pumpkin. it is out of a 78 or 79 ford f series. it is the high pinion axle

It can be done. Call Off Road Unlimited in Burbank, CA. I think they have a "kit" with everything but the axle itself. Good luck
