Yikes! my brakes!

Well, the other day I had to make a panic stop.  An old old old lady pulled out in front of me while I was going 45mph.   And well I almost ended up in the d*mn ditch!  Apparently the mechanic told me that my brake pads had wore totally uneven and weren't near aligned.  So the left front disc brake grabbed, right didn't and I tried with all my might to hold onto the steering wheel but it broke my grip and hurt my arm.  It fully cranked the wheel!  Scared me shitless it did.  Then the old lady yelled at me and said I was a wreckless driver? .....45 in a 45 is wreckless drivin?  Anywho, I told her well, umm nothing nm heh heh heh.  I also had my brakes bled and new cylinders in the drums put in.

What do the cylinders in the drums do?

Thanks

If it was the left front, your problem wasn't a cylinder or a drum.On front brakes you should have calipers and rotors, the back brakes have cylinders and drums.

Your problem could be a few things.

1)Pads wore down and the rivets are  clutching the rotor.

2)Faulty caliper

3)Bad pressure differential valve

4)Who knows?

My 2000 ZR2 has 4 wheel antilocks and they will still lock up so it can, does and has happened.
