I haven't heard any horrible things about them. Some have said the interior is too plain. Personally, I wish they had a larger engine choice. However, it seems like you won't need alot of towing or hauling power, so that shouldn't be a factor. Have you test drove one? If you like it, then I'd buy it. They haven't had many, if any, TSBs yet that I know of. Good luck with the buy.

BTW, welcome to the board  . It is a great site, a little slow right know, but there are many great members who have alot of knowledge about Chevrolets.

i have a 2005 canyon regular cab short bed z85 4-wheel drive cherry red color and it's been great, rides much smoother than my 1998 s-10 reg.cab short bed z85 4-wheel drive that i still have. and a 1991 regular cab short bed 4-wheel drive s-10 that i used to own.

Like one guy posted here, I would prefer if they had a larger engine option but from what I've read and experienced the I5 is no slouch and will get you around quite well.

I've test driven both the I4 and I5 and all 3 cab configurations and they all seemed to have decent power. The I4 was in reg cab ZQ8 manual and was quite suprisingly nimble and peppy. The I5 in a reg cab would really snort.

The other two trucks I test drove both had the I5 auto, one being the ext. cab and the other ccrew cab, the ext cab was a 4x4, the crew a 2wd. Both trucks had very respectable midrange/top end acceleration but I found off the line grunt was a little lacking (thereby explaining my desire for a larger engine option).

Overall if you're not going to haul large loads or pull large trailers, then I think you'll be happy in a Colorado.

You may want to check out Coloradofans.com there's a great message forum on there and most of the people seem to be quite friendly and helpful. There is tonne of information there as well.
