Goof Off, 3M Tar and Adhesive Remover, etc. Do not use the new brake & parts cleaners that are non clorinated as it will eat the paint, just like carb cleaner. When you are done make sure to wax the area.

I read a post on the RV.NET forum about a couple that drove their rig behind a tar truck that made a mess of it. They placed newspapers on the concrete below the sides of their vehicles and then coated them real well with baby oil! In the morning they discovered all the tar slid off their truck and trailer onto the paper. Then, they just washed the baby oil off. There was no harm to the paint.

I use DX330 and a soft towel. No damage to the finish, tar will wipe right off. Works well for 3M sickies as well.

dont quote me on this but i think some paint thinner with a cloth will get it off  :banghead:

Definately NOT thinner! it will get the tar off along with the finish.

My dad owned a body shop all of his life and he always used Go-Jo...

or Isopropyl or Denatured alcohol.

I agree with the Diesel fuel. Kerosine too.

I don't remember any paint trauma with either one, but check it first in that obscure painted area!
