Big O Tires

Oops, I posted this in the aftermarket section, but I guess it really belongs here...

I searched, and searched our forum... but found no opinions of Big O Bigfoot AT tires. I did find some comments on Big O AT's and MT's on some off-road forums, and they got some good reviews.

Well, yesterday I replaced my factory 245 Bridgestones with 265 Big O Bigfoot AT tires. I initially was going to compare the BFGs with them, but they didn't have load range E in the BFG's, and I was able to trade in my factories (they gave me $200 for them) if I went with the Bigfoots. So... I got the Big O Bigfoot AT LT265/75R16-E's. I like the tread pattern - it is a completely re-done Bigfoot tire that just came out in the fall according to the sales dude - and the fact that they have a full 60K mile warranty - not prorated. Well, being a beautiful day today in Colorado (the Broncos even won today! :flag: ) I went for a little "drive" in the mountains, and darn if I didn't somehow "bump into" some mud and snow up there (imagine that). I have to say, that the truck felt very sure-footed in everything I went through; loose dirt, gravel, mud and snow. The highway driving is also very good with these, you wouldn't think I was taking the smooth mountain curves in a 6000lb truck. The truck felt much more solid and stable than with the factories.

Anyway, I know this is a very preliminary review of these tires, but so far I'm impressed - I was a little hesitant and not sure what to expect with these. I'll post more in the future in case anyone is interested in how they do as time goes by.

My brother has those on his Jeep and they've been great tires. Despite daily hammering down mountain roads (he lives in evergreen CO) they've held up well. He rotates them every 5k and they still look new. Big O is great, I wish they were out east.

DO YOU HAVE AWEB SITE FOR THEM? IM LOOKING FOR SOME SNOW TIRES

THANKS

Here you go: http://www.bigotires.com/

You'll see they also have more aggressive tires than the AT (I think it's the XT) if that's what you want. They are mostly in the west coast. What gave me warm fuzzies with them is that they are an authorized installer for Tirerack.com.

Waiting for them to put the tires on, I saw the impact wrench next to my truck when they were installing the tires, and I was about to say something, then I saw the guy tightening the lug nuts with a torque wrench... I felt much better.

Good luck!

I had a set of Big-O AT tires (looked like aquatreads) on the Blazer that lasted 60k miles, and looked like they could go another 20k when I sold them. Stuck like glue in the rain, snow, slush, and ice of 3 Colorado winters. Actually, they did a LOT better than the BFGs that were on there before.

No, those numbers are NOT an exaggeration. One of the contractors that built my house got over 90k on his. I'm actually thinking of putting another set on my 02...Of course, they cost me 800 smackers though.

Just a comment:

Yesterday I saw a H2 with "Big O" on all four sides, which tells me that this guy must own a Big O dealership.

Guess what tires he had on his custom wheels????

BFG TA/AT

Hmmmmm. Don't say he just didn't want to change the tires because he changed the wheels from the stock rims, and spent bucks to put the BIG O logo all over the H2.

Just an observation.

Big-O Sells BFG products...A lot of them.

That, or they simply pay for a portion of that truck in order for him to let them plaster stickers all over the thing.
