Spark plug wire order?

Well i am new here and first i would like to say nice site you guys have here.

 

And as the topic says i ran into a small problem while changing the spark plugs and wires yesterday due to some problems it seems like i ran in more problems.

 

I started changing them because the suburban was shaking when i would start hitting the gas and when it actually stopped but it was acting like it had misfires and i think i even noticed a back fire so thats why i decided to change the plugs and wires but now i think i might have messed that up and gotten the wires mixed up so i was wondering if anybody knew the order because the truck wont start.

Don't quote me on this but it should be 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2. Pretty much every small block GM has had that order for the last 30 years.

That is the correct firing order, and remember the placement of the cylinders as well. Number 1 Cylinder is driver side front. Driver side of the engine is Odd numbered cyl., passenger side is even numbered cyl. A good starting point is to have the engine at Top Dead Center on a compression stroke.
