Need some help

Well I've had my eye on Tahoes for a while now and I want to learn a bit more. I'm looking at buying used cuz I want a few options but, I don't have 45-50 Gs sitting around for a new one. I was thinking 2000 or a 2001 LT or Z71. What I wanted to know is what engin should I go with the 4.8 or 5.3L? I have been reading some of your post about superchargers and I wanted to know which engin takes them better? Or would you guys recommend a different engin if I'm thinking about a supercharger? I was also wondering about what kind of options came in these trucks back then, I don't want to buy one that doesn't have an option I might want. Any info you guys might have or opinons let me know, on a side note I was refered to you guys from GMinsideNews. So thanks again.

If you get the LT or Z71 package on a NBS (New Body Style) Tahoe, it will have the 5.3. The 4.8 is the base engine. The Z71 is a top-line LS, and the LT is the top line.

If it's an OBS (Old Body Style) Tahoe it will probably have the 5.7 liter in it.

They all respond quite well to supercharging.

What year is the old body style and what year is the new body. I have been looking at pictures and 99 looks different then the 2000 but the 2001 looks different from both? I know with deisels there are a lot of chip programers out there, is there alot for the 2000-2001 tahoe? Is there any other parts that would be worth looking into? Do any of you guys know where I could find some specs for the 2000-2001 tahoes?
