camper mirrors

I've got an 04 GMC with the power extending camper mirrors and as time goes on

these things seem to be going to pot. With 13,000 miles on the truck I find the mirror on the left side rattles pretty bad causing distortion all the time and now the passenger side mirror is starting to vibrate causing distortion. Obviously I am going to address the dealer about these problems but I was curious if anyone else was having issues with these mirrors. I would rather have had the power folding standard type miror and had read where street inspired customs was selling these but people were having problems geting them.

I had a problem with my right power extending mirror.........ripped it off on the garage LOL. So I ordered the power folding from street inspired kustoms about a week and 1/2 ago, am yet to see them. I thought thier site said roughly 2 weeks to get?

I have a brandy spanking new 2005 2500HD with these power extending camper mirrors and they both vibrate even in the fully retracted position, very annoying when trying to focus on something in the mirror. Let me know if the dealer was able to cprrect this problem.

My power extended mirrors work fine also. They stay extended all the time. The truck is always pulling an enclosed trailer. I'd still like a better (bigger) mirror with big wide angle mirrors. ( I have some small wide angle mirrors on it that attach to the edge of the mirror housing.

hmmm...got the extended camper mirrors on my 04 and never had a shimmy or shake extended or not extended.  Have worked well.

Same here. Only 6k on the truck but they're steady so far.

I have a 2005 2500HD and my telescoping camping mirrors do not vibrate.

But I dislike the right side "flat" mirror. I could never have imagined someone would come up with something so dumb as a standard option. None of the material for the truck I saw mentioned it was flat. I just assumed it would be curved. Now I use a glue-on Dodge Caravan mirror on the right side, covering about 60% of the space.

my 2004 mirrors shake really bad and the dealer said they would replace them for $1000 a side, anyone figured a way to fix them?

They are ripping you off man, you can get a stock one from gmpartsdirect.com for less than that and replace it yourself. Or go to ebay and look. My mirrors shake some but I can live with it til I can afford the 06 trailer mirrors. Good luck.

The 'camper' mirrors have always had the passenger side mirror flat. My dad's last 2 trucks (his '94 and his '86) both had the same mirrors (the big swing-out ones that looked like they were meant to be monkey bars) and both sides were flat. Personally, I like them better that way. Set up properly, you can actually see MORE than with a curved mirror, and with FAR less distortion.
