Need advice on truck purchase

I'm thinking of buying a late 80s/early 90s 1500.  I'd like a 350, manual trans, short bed, regular cab, 4x4.  My idea is to go forced induction with PFI.  

1. Does that combination exist?

2. Is any of the stock short block forged?

3. How tough is the drivetrain?  Does anybody launch in 4wd, or is it too hard on the transfer case?

Any ideas or help is appreciated.

I would say that it does exist.  I have a '91 brochure, and the best I can make of it, it does.  I don't know about the other questions.  Sorry.
