hello need help

I have a 2005 silverado work truck reg cab I removed delpi am/fm part 15131157 and installed delpi gm part 15179348 purchased on ebay as new.then took to dealer to have activated dealer run there program and said the radio was bad beause the volume said zero on the tech 2. The station show up when selected.I Just don't beleive the hold process was used. Is there a way to bypas all this crap?

They actually reprogrammed the radio? I don't know what you want to bypass, but it needs programming and that can't be bypassed.

 

If you give me your VIN, I'll plug it into TIS (our programming software) and see if that new radio part number is one that is available. Probably, but lets make sure.

Sorry Kind of stressed from dealing with this. Vin# is 1gcec14xx5z156673 chevy dealer checked compatibly and said ok to swap. Do you have a step by step procedure for this that i can give them. I've talked with 3 dealership and none are very up on radio swap programing or maybe don't want to be.

If there is no volume and evething else seems OK, i would bet that you have a Bose headunit. The Bose headunits have no internal amplification and must run through a Bose amp (or aftermarket if you know what your doing)to make sound.

 

I'm not 100% sure on this but I don't think the work trucks have a databus (class II) going to the radio. If you look at the connector to the radio in position A1 there should be a small orange wire. Position B1 is a heavy gauge orange wire and that is the 12vdc pos. lead
