I just put a Magnaflow 3.5" polished race muffler on my 04 Silverado. Love the sound and performance. Check the muffler out, its a straight through design with no chambers or baffles. If you really want lound you can also go with the new Flowmaster Super 40

 I would get a magnaflow, great performance, great sound, not too loud at highway speeds. I just got mine a few months ago after researching on this site for a few weeks. I LIKE IT!

I would recommend JBA Evol systems too. I believe they are around the same as a magnaflow. Mine sound awesome and I noticed a big difference in power and maybe a slight difference in gas mileage. www.jbaheaders.com They make the best shorty headers on the market today so thats why I went with their exhaust as some shorties are next on my list.

I agree, the MagnaFlow is the best bang for the buck. I put the 24" on mine to keep my neigbors on my good side and it still sounds great, just not quite as loud as a shorter version. You should expect to pay around $100-150 max for just the muffler changeout and another $100 for a mandrel bent pipe (not really neccessary but looks better with a fatter pipe coming out the back) and about $25 for a chrome tip or up to $50 or more for a Stainless tip.

Good luck.

We do Custom Exhaust,I threw a Imco 3 in in and out Turbo Muffler on mine. For less than 20 bucks it soundsas good as my 03 Hemi did stock which is all I want.Stock muffler makes it sound like a sewing machine!

Does anyone know if a cat-back exhaust system would void warrantees at all?

Reason being is i just leased mine. (i plan on buying it out at the end, but due to 3 semesters left of school i needed the lowest monthly payment i could get).

But this trucks screaming for a dual exhaust! (05 crew cab 5.3L) Im just worried about voiding the expensive warrantee i just payed for

$250? Thats not bad at all. Id assume it would be around $500 total then to get some pipes bent back by a shop...

but does anyone know about warrantee issues?

The exaust will NOT void any warranty except the exaust itself. I know from 10 years of warranty work on three brand new GMCs, all with modified exaust, all leased. Dont worry about modifying with the lease, as long as the truck holds its value when you turn it in (meaning no damage).
