 Ok i finally received my Westers 93 Hot Tune. I spoke to them and they informed me that I was one of their customers that had the PCM lost by the shipping company.Im not too sure this is what i wanted now. Im still getting error codes regarding insufficient activity on the O2 sensors and whats even worse. I top speed out at 95 MPH now. Whats that all about!!!!!!!???????? Even the stock computer allows 99. I used to have the Hypertech Programmer and thought this would be better but now i dont think so. Anybody else have this experience?

I suggest you speak to Lyndon regarding your issues. Did you specify a top spead? Does your vehicle perform better with the new PCM?

I had the same 02 sensor codes and the dealer changed my cats twice. Never figured out what was casuing it. If you were having it before you installed the PCM, it won't be fixed with the Westers.

Lyndon can give you some answers here.

There must be something wrong somewhere. I've

never heard anyone say that they thought that the Hypertech

was better. You need to write or call Lyndon and tell him

what is going on. I had the Hypertech and I could tell the

difference pulling out of my driveway.

I agree; I'm a new customer for Wester's and I've had NO problem getting Lyndon on the phone. 1-888-937-8371

yo hey zee is that you? Did you tell lyndon of all the mods made on your rig? I know there was a problem with a couple of 99's and 98's getting everything worked out. It sometimes takes a while for the pcm to sort everything out. Sometimes several tanks of 93 before you notice it. One guy here had to have lyndon program his 99 several times before it took. Removing the top end limit should of been no problem. Maybe you didn't get the right pcm(mail screwed up) Anyhoo definately check with lyndon about it. He stands behind his product and will make it right.

I'm on Week 2 waiting for my PCM to come back from Westers. I've never seen anything but a glowing report about their work...

My problem is, I'm dealing with a 2005, so there were no cores available, so my truck is spending a second week holding the floor of my garage down, while I drive a rental car. It was all supposed to happen in the space of a week, but I'm finding that shipping to Canada is a major PITA!

I sure hope the tune is worth the wait. (and a couple hundred bucks for rental cars :seeya: )

Okay, 10 days later I got the PCM back from Westers.

Truck seems a little more sparky... no 'night and day' change, but hopefully the 'learning process' will help things along.

I asked if they could correct a +2 MPH speedo error (according to GPS), and I'm not sure yet, but now it seems to read almost +4. I wonder if they went the wrong way. (?)

From what I understand GPS is not extremly accurate on speeds. I have heard alot of talk from the ATV'ers about it. Could be wrong, but most were 2-10 mph off.

On the GPS... it's dead on (on any reasonable quality unit), if the reception is good and you can run a constant speed in a straight line. I've used them on everything from Cessnas to dirt bikes. You can confuse the speed computation with a lot of curves and varying speeds, as it doesn't update as quickly as a speedo, but I'm taking that into account. I have a Garmin GPSMAP76C for my dirtbike, mountain bike and ATV, a GPSMAP276C for my streetbikes and truck. I can mount either unit on any vehicle, and they all give the same reading. I once played with the 76C flying from Charleston, SC to St Louis, MO in a Beechcraft Baron on autopilot, and the thing was *STUPID* accurate... pegged the ETA at the Mississippi River to the second... from 3 hours away.

My question is... does anybody think it's possible Westers just went the wrong way on the setting, or does that sound impossible?

I DO know for sure I wouldn't ask them to do anything about it until they get some 2005 1500HD cores... I'm not letting shipping and customs keep my vehicle sitting in the garage for 10 days again! :fume:

By the way, Westers' 93 Hot Tune is starting to shine... had to pull a couple of passes on mountain 2-lanes... MUCH BETTER!!

Just call Lyndon up and have him check the program, he can look at your tune and tell exactly what tire size he programmed for.

I,m sure that lyndon will tell you that 2 or 3 mph is well within the gmc parameter for speedometer error. He would be hard pressed to get closer than that(as would anyone) because of the variables involved.
