Wheel and Tire fitment??? Nitto 305/55r20 20x10

I need some help guys. I got a 2003 2500 HD 4x4 6.0L and want to fit Nitto 305/55r20 tires, that are 33"x12.5". My wheels that I bought are Weld Velocity 8, they are 20" x 10" w/6" backspacing(-25mm) and 4" lip. Can these fit on a stock hieght truck or will a 3" body lift work?

How detail is it to install a 3" body lift on these truck, also how much should I expect to pay if someone installs the body lift for me?

Thanks,

Chance

Body Lift? :seeya:

Sorry, I can't back bodylifts from a personal perspective.

I think they would fit, (from an educated guess), but I would measure.....a lot. Measure at a standstill, have a buddy turn the wheels while you measure, then have your buddy slowly move forward and backward while turning while you walk along side and visually inspect. I have used this method three times and it has worked well.

Also, I have a buddy running 305's on 22's with the torsion bars on his Escalade a bit cranked. with the low profile tires, he ran into a lot of steering jerk, which was solved by a steering stabilizer in a custom bracket.

As far as installing a body lift (though I am biased, this comes from an unbiased buddy who installed one), they are more of a pain in the butt than a suspension lift. you literally have to pick the cab and bed off the frame to put the spacers in. No idea on cost for labor.

If I were you, I would slap the tires on, and if they rub, try cranking the T-bars before a body lift.

Hope this helped. :banghead:

Personally I'd try to see if they'd fit without the bodylift. With the HD's so much frame shows to begin with that it may look very obvious and wierd. If a bodylift isn't completed the right way, they do look horrible! I've seen 16x8 rims with 4" BS with 305's with a little cranking and they fit fine. Your rims are 2" wider, but your BS is 2" wider, which will help. You may have to trim a little on the black plastic front bumper, which many do. Although I've put on bodylifts on all of my trucks, I never had one that was new. I would spend the extra $$ and get a Suspension lift if I had a newer HD. Just my opinion, but if you're going to spend that much money on a truck, don't take the cheap way out. I have, but won't again! Chris
