rust through

i have a 2000 gmc sierra 1500 that i was washing on a warm jan. day when i noticed rust through on the rocker panels both sides no less. i quickely looked it up in warranty assistance book. 6 years or 100,000 mi.. think i just made it, im sure the 2000's wernt out yet 6 years ago.( i got the truck used.) has any one on here dealt with this problem, does the fact i got the truck pre-owned make any difference. thanks.

went to drop my truck off at shop this afternoon they pulled up the vehicle inquiry. it turns out this truck was made and sold in. canada. when they moved it into the states they had to change the dash cluster. (kil. to mi. etc...) warranty void. no pics. yet, i will post some now that i have plenty time
