Hey Guys, On my truck i cant get the passenger side headlight screw out. And Im gettin mad cause i just paid all this money for silverstars and cant get one in. Now on my style truck there are 2 like screws holding the headlight in but they require a 5mm socket to get them out the bolt goes into a plastic like L piece with a metal bushing in the middle with threads to hold the screw. Well when i spin the screw the metal bushing inside the plastic spins with it. How Can I get it out without breaking it.

Any Ideas??????

Composite headlights right? Welcome to the club!

Unfortunately it is a common problem with the OBS(Old Body Stlye) trucks. The steel pin that screws into the brass press nut in the holder gets stuck and the plastic gives way before the pin breaks loose from the nut.....This happened to me on my '95 :P ...I had to remove the grill to get to the 4 bolts that hold the entire assembly to the radiator support....once you pull the assy. you can get to the bulbs...however I did not stop there :seeya: I knew what had happened, having gone thru this before on my '91, so I purchased NEW mounting brackets from a local dealer, cut the plastic on the old ones to get a pair of ViseGrips on the crappy brass nuts to remove the pins, cleaned the old pins with a wire wheel coated them with COPPER Anti-Sieze and reinstalled them...WHAT A P.I.T.A. :)
