temperature sensor question

I replaced my factory temp sensor last march (with one from the dealer) because it wasnt sending to the dash gauge. In december the replacement one poped out/broke(the plasctic piece came out of the bronze treaded fitting that screws into the block). So got another on from the place i get my truck inspected(figured i got a bad one from the dealer). Just today the dash gauge stoped working.......it happened again the temp sensor came apart....anyone have an idea why this is happening??? ..... 92 GMC 350 tbi

Sounds like you're cranking the new ones down too tight and distorting them.

Wrap about 3 turns (no more than) of white teflon thread tape and install it with a box end wrench no longer than 6" and don't tighten it very tight. If it leaks, snug it down a little more, but not much at a time (1/6 turn each time).

Get AC/Delco or Genuine GM parts if you want the best. Otherwise, take your chances...

THANKS 71 GMC, I THINK THAT WAS MY PROBLEM ....CRANKED IT ON THERE TOO TIGHT .....I'II PICK A GENUINE GM ONE TODAY......AND SEE HOW THAT WORKS.....I'LL LET U KNOW IF IT HAPPENS AGAIN......THANKS FOR THE ADVISE
