'01 Extended cab vs. '04 Crew

I have a freind that has a '01 silverado extended cab with a 5.3, I have a '04 CC with a 5.3. My truck has 2200 miles on it right now, I was wondering why the '01 seems more powerful than mine. I have stomped on the gas in wet pavement in and cannot break the tires loose at all. I have 3.73 gears in the rear and no it wasn't in auto or 4 wheel drive. Is this something due to break in, design, or could somthing be wrong?

The '04 probably has an electronic throttle control sytsem and more torque management effect due to the "drive by wire" system. I doubt anything is wrong. I have similar trouble with my '05 ext cab. ...it breaks the tires loose and then the engine just feels like its not getting fuel. A PCM tune might be worth looking into if you want better throttle response.
