Anyone ever installed the factory fog lights

I am thinking about purchasing the factory fog lights for the 01 Tahoe. It appears that the kit includes the lights, wire loom and switch. I am reasonably certain the BCM will need to be reprogramed.

Where is the wire routed from under the hood to the cab to connect to the switch? I had a dealer go as far to tell me the instructions were straight forward and I would not need to drill through the firewall. I am having a hard time trying to picture where I am going to find an existing hole in the firewall to get the loom through? He did mention it gets the power from the BCM???

The loom runs from the underhood electrical center (fuse box) to the lights. The dash switch plugs into an existing harness which already connected to the BCM. In most cases, the BCM will have to be programmed to turn on the lights.

If you buy a complete factory kit, the instructions GM put in there are fairly good.

If your interested, I have a new Pilot PL-133c kit. Wireless remote switch, 55W H3 bulbs (oem lights are 28W). The mounting brackets match the oem light brackets. $75 + actual shipping cost

I am guessing it draws power from the same source as the OEM and would need to have the BCM reprogrammed? Do you have the install instructions that could be emailed?

I am also guessing it is a little warmer in Tucson than here in IL. I have some family that live out your way.

The Pilot lights wire into any 12V source under hood, no other wires.
