VERY BEST TIRES NEEDED

Recommended Posts

I need some help. I would like to know what the VERY BEST all season tire is for our trucks. PLease advise.  :D

That's a real hard question to answer without knowing what you do with your truck. I think that AT are considered to be all season, I know that they are rated M+S. If so, you might consider the Bridgestone Dueler AT Revo. If you want a highway tread all season, I don't know what is good.

BFG AT's in my opinion. There are other good tires out there, maybe even better, but with my experience with them, they are great. My current set has 24k miles on them and they is at least 60% tread left, if not more.

tps0424 is on the right track to answer your question.. we need more information to recommend the "best" all season tire...

Tire manufacturers have three basic issues they deal with when designing a tire:

1. Initial cost, ie.. $65 at tire or $150 a tire

2. Performance ie... good on road handling or good off road grip

3. Durability ie.... a 35,000 mile tire or a 80,000 mile rated tire

Each one of these issues is a compromise to the other 2: ie.... if you make a tire with great on road handling and grip, the rubber is usually softer, which results in the tire wearing out quickly.

For the forum to answer your question, you need to phrase your question like:

What is the best all season tire for primary on road use for about $100 that will last at least 50,000 miles?

Unfortunately, this is like the question: What is the best beer?

I vote for the Bridgestone Dueler AT Revos! Love the ones I've got on my truck! When the Wife's Tahoe needs new tires, that is what is going on it too!

If you'd like to read some consumer tire reviews go to Tirerack.com. On the homepage under "Products" click "Tires" then click "Survey Results". They have light truck tires listed in several different categories. Michelin LTX M/S gets my vote in the Highway All Season category.

I recommend the Pro Comp A/T. Great on snow, ice, sand, and dry pavement. I bought them when there was a "buy 3 get 1 free" sale with free shipping. Costco mounted them for $6 w/warranty. 4wheel parts is where I bought them and spent just over $400 for them. Great tires, I really noticed a difference this winter on the ice. Great traction, no slip. and I rarley even used 4wheel drive. For the price I recommend them.

Dunlop Radial Rover A/T is a good 5-rib design that is great for highway and will dig when you need it to.. they're quiet and they wear really nice if you rotate.

Since they're on my 2wd on all 4 right now, I've been meaning to switch to 2 BFG A/T KO for the rear and have 2 of my dunlop's on the front because the 5-rib is a nice steer tire. If you do a lot of winter highway, a 5-rib like the dunlop or the bridgestone dueler is the best for turning.

I vote for BFG All-Terrain. But I do not believe in "All Season" tires. Then again, my all season is not like a East Coast "All Season". That's why I run BFG All Terrain in the Summer and Blizzak's in the Winter.

My BFG AT's have 80K on them right now and are still going strong. I live in Wisconsin and have had them on for 2 years now and they have been great tires. When it is time for a new set, probably in the fall I will be getting the BFG's again without hesitation. Just my two cents.
