502Python Posted February 20, 2005 Posted February 20, 2005 My SES light flashed on today for less than 1 minute and went off. It has not come back on after about 35mi of driving. My change oil message came on last week and I have not changed the oil yet. Are these two related or do I have another problem?? I have a 2002 3500 4x4 with the 8.1 and 35k miles.
502Python Posted February 20, 2005 Author Posted February 20, 2005 Totally unrelated. Just a coincidence. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> So what does/can the SES light flash mean. If it goes off and doesn't come back on can I assume all is OK??
GM-Tech Posted February 20, 2005 Posted February 20, 2005 So what does/can the SES light flash mean. If it goes off and doesn't come back on can I assume all is OK?? Without a code, I can't tell you what the light meant. There are probably 50 different things it could be. If it's off now, it's probably okay, but suspect you'll see it again soon.
Haulin' 8.1 Posted February 20, 2005 Posted February 20, 2005 Correct me if I'm wrong but a "flashing" SES light is reserverd for only one condition. It would indicate a current missfire condition bad enough to cause catalyst damage. Vernon
