What do you do for fun?

So what does everyone do for fun?

I did go 4x4'ing on the weekend in my ZR2 until I sunk it and it screwed everything up. $28,000 later I'm in the HD. Not doing that again.

THEN I tried to go 4-wheeler riding. I did this for years when I was younger. I really enjoyed it. I figured it would be something great for my wife and I to do together. I went last weekend (the 19th), the whole day was great until a truck was speeding through the trails and hit me. Nearly killed me-- I won't ever ride an ATV again--ever.

Once I get healed up I am thinking of buying a bass boat and taking up fishing again. I know how to swim, so I guess I'll be allright. I mostly just like easing around the lake in the boat more than fishing.

I also thought of taking up target shooting. You see people in handgun magazine that do this hard core for hobbies. I am seriously thinking of doing this. I have several weapons---one is a 7.62x25mm from the soviot war that was given to me. This one is extremely powerful.

I thought of off-road RC alochol remote control trucks. That's kinda high -priced.

So what does everyone else do?

You got hit by a truck on an ATV? How bad did that screw you up? Sorry to hear it man. That really sucks. I don't ride where trucks are allowed (generally).

RC trucks aren't as expensive at ATV's are they? Those things are cool.

But me? Obviously I ride ATV's. Sold the boat (B.O.A.T...Break Out Another Twenty) 'cause it cost too much, and I didn't use it enough. 70 gallon tank on a guzzler (454) that only took premium is a dent in anybodys wallet.

Of course, any hobby is expensive if you get into it deep enough. I have a buddy that collects die cast cars (Hot Wheels). You'd think that at $1 a pop, that's a cheap hobby...He's probably got over 30k in cars now.

I've been thinking about getting on the internet...That's what all the cools kids are doing these days right? :) Sounds like a fun hobby. :seeya:

I like to hit the local Driving Ranges. I like hitting Golf Balls without having the hassle of trying to find your Ball. I'd like to try hitting the links one of these days, but after I get a full set of clubs first.

The downside to golfing is, a good set of Golf Clubs, will run you in excess of $1000.

But at the same time, Bass Boats run about $10-20k. Take that as you want to.

I also Bowl every now and then.

That's about all I do aside from mudding, myself.

I'm sorry to hear about your accident with the 4 Wheeler, that really sucks. :seeya:

$300 is plenty for a set of golf clubs. Upgrading to Taylor Made, Ping, Calloway, etc. is pointless unless you get your game down to a +10 handicap or less.

i used to be a sponsered skateboarder... until i got into liking cars and then all my friends turned into druggys... so i quit because i dont like hanging out with that kind of people!

now all i do is computer gaming

How's THAT for fun?? :)

10 months to go before I get the sheepskin for a BA in Political Science and Criminal Justice. :seeya::seeya:

Those both actually sound like pretty interesting topics to me. My first A for a term paper was a write-up on Thurgood Marshall. I won't count the one I got for mummies in the third grade. :D

Used to spend time drag racing my 67 chevelle, but recently sold it.

Now I spend time remolding my house.

When I have time I like to camp, play x-box or run my remote control monster truck.

I have a traxxas nitro t-maxx monster truck, It's a blast. :seeya::)

I play volleyball at the local rec centers, pick up games and organized leagues. I also like playing some video games, used to spend way too much time on them, poison of choice currently is World of Warcraft. In High School I was really into my truck, washed it atleast once a week, waxed it every other month, California Car duster in between, got into my only fight ever because a guy at school opened his car door into it. I did some really basic mods, exhaust, K&N, throttle body plate, rims, snug lid, and a bed rug. Now being in CO it is a lot harder to keep my truck clean, next one is not going to black as much as I love black. And I can't spend all my money on my truck so it is less of a hobby now a day. Otherwise I spend my time helping my Dad remodel/fix up his place, ski when I can, and fish a handful of times a year.

Bought a house.

Now my hobbies are

1) repairing the house

2) upgrading the house

3) maintaining the house

There's no time for anything else

Well, since I haven't much time righ tnow with school and all, my hobbies pertain mostly to working out, AutoCAD home design (have about 4 plans done now).

When the weather and time allow, I like to spend my time on the lake either on the jet skis or boat and jumping off cliffs. When I graduate, I'm hoping to get more time to work on my 70 C-10 and pick up a couple of other hobbies if I have the time.

Hmmm... ATVs(Expensive), Nitro R/C Trucks(Expensive), Amateur Radio(Expensive), My Truck(Expensive), but since last May I have been building my race car which I plan to race for the first time next month, and WOW talk about EXPENSIVE and the costs keep coming with tires, fuel, etc....

Yep....got hit by a silverado actually. The kid was drunk in his company truck. Needless to say I have the best lawyer around and am aggressively persuing it.

This was private property, a place called River Ranch. Its open to ATV's, swamp buggies, etc. he was speeding where he shouldnt have been, and should have been in 4wd. I got f'd up pretty good. My left arm has been nearly useless for the past week. I can't move it, can't feel it, swolen to the size of a football--can't get my shirt over the swelling....neck is messed up a bit....I'm out of work for a while. Hopefully I'll be good to go in a few months. Thank God I have STD & LTD through work.
