So, What's the worst car wreck you ever saw?

The worst one I ever saw was on a highway about a mile from my house.

A Gasoline Tanker-Truck was going down the road, with a Dump Truck on his right traveling a couple feet ahead of him. Well, the guy in the Dump Truck decided to make a U-Turn and cut the Tanker off. The Tanker Truck Either Jack-knifed or something  (I was little when this happened, The details that I remember are a little sketchy) and blew-up.  I could see The black smoke from the explosion @ my house.  The Driver in the Tanker got trapped in the cab and died. I don't remember what happened to the Dump Truck or it's driver, I know he survived, I think he got his CDL revoked (IMO, Rightfully so). The road got so messed up from the fire, they had to dig a section of it up and re-do it. (I remember ridin' past it while they had it dug up).

Worst one I ever saw was either last Thanksgiving or the one before on my way down 95 about half way between DC and Richmond...

We were heading south on the way to my inlaws for the holiday and we noticed there was no northbound traffic...  a few miles later, traffic heading in our direction started to back up.  Soon, we could see the flashers in the northbound lane -- had to have been half a dozen state cruisers and several ambulances and fire crews.

As we got nearer, we soon realized why traffic on our side was so backed up -- all the drivers were seeing the same thing we were.  The tarp and the bloodstain in the middle of the northbound lanes and the rolled Explorer about fifty feet away on the shoulder.

When we got to the inlaws, we found out that the Explorer had swerved onto the left shoulder to avoid a negligent driver of a small car.  When the Explorer driver tried to recover, he overcorrected and sent the truck rolling down the highway.  His wife was ejected (no seatbelt) and hit by a passing transfer truck that didn't have time to react.

If I recall correctly, the driver and the other three passengers were taken to the hospital, 3 of them winding up in the ICU.  I don't know if the cops ever found the driver of the car that cut them off.

I think it was about a couple months ago, up near Saratoga NY, a guy was walking along side the interstate, and a tractor trailer was too close to the shoulder, and pretty much vaporized him.  They had to close the area betweem exit 12 and 13.  This is about 2 miles distance.  THey don't number the exits up here like they do in the south.  Don't know why.

First one i was about 15 or 16.  At a park which runs along 80/94 in indiana.  Guys car broke down he pulled off on the fast lane emergency lane.  Got out and walked across traffic.  Well he tried.  Didnt get very far he was nailed by a semi then a car.  I didnt see the initial hit but when i heard the squealing brakes i looked and he was flying in the air.  ALl in all he got hit 3-4 times.  Pretty grusome.  Guy was drunk and probably had no idea what hit him.

Second also happened on 80/94.  Construction site at one of the exits (cline ave).  Well a guy driving a semi had a heart attack.  Somehow steered his truck off to the right to avoid other cars/trucks drove off the side of the road into a revene about 25ft below.  Lady passenger jumped before it hit the ground.  She was airlifted to a chicago hospital.  The driver was smashed in his cab by 2 steel coils which were on his flatbed.  The cab of the truck wasnt recognizible.  I was pretty amazed how he steered clear to not put anyone else in danger.  I didnt personally see this but it was in the local paper.

Third i seen.  Guy on motor cycle going 10mph down my street.  Hit a small pothole lost control and wrecked.  He was screaming me and a neighbor ran up to him.  His leg was snapped n half and hanging there and his lens of his sunglasses went into his skin under his eye.
