Rough Running Tahoe

Anyone have any ideas about a rough running 2004 tahoe5.3 litre. The check engine light came on last night and I connected with Onstar who told me that the error codes were emmissions and fule system related. It runs very rough at low rpm's, barely noticable at highway speeds. and there is a terrible smell coming from teh exhaust. The truck has only 11,000 miles on it. Any ideas?

Should be under warranty...take it to the stealer...it should be his headache.

 

Did then give you the exact codes? Emmissions could be anything from a leaky gas cap to major plugged cats, bad os sensors, egr problems, etc.

 

The obviose I would check....pull plugs and try to get a read off them, check for any vacuum lines loose or leaking, check all electrical/sensor connections. Is is really bad rotten eggs?? Could be bad cats.

 

Like I said though, it should be under warranty, let them deal with it!
