Squeak in dash area...Make's me crazy!

I have a problem with squeaks. I know trucks will squeak, but this will drive anyone nuts. :fume: Here's the deal. In an area near the dash on the drivers side, there is a squeak that happens when I go over some MILDLY bumpy roads and when I take off from a stop.

It seems that when the suspension unloads, I get this squeak. I can also get it to happen when I lightly torque up the truck in drive. The squeak is much more apparent in the inside of the truck as opposed to the outside. I have tried listening to it with the door open and it is definitely louder when the door is closed. The sound is also definitelty heard in the FRONT of the truck.

I have taken the dash apart, lubed all the contact points between the hood and rubber snubbers, taken the front shocks off for a short ride and have had the dealer check it out twice to no avail. I have also lubed all 11 zerks myself and still come up stumped. :happysad: Any help would be appreciated....Thanks

Yeah, saw that, but you have two so I wasn't sure which. :happysad:

LOTS of shocks off center at the top mount causing a noise just like you describe, but you said you took both off and still had the noise. So I guess that's not it.

You don't have anything like aftermarket running boards, do you? If you pull the hood release and leave the hood on the safety catch and drive it, do you still have the noise?

Noises can be VERY difficult to find, even when the vehicle is sitting there right in front of us. Trying to figure one out over the Internet is not easy.

Truck is totally stock except for plow. Drove with the hood on the safety catch and still does it. I plowed snow two days ago and the squeak is even worse with the plow up. It's gotta be suspension related, but the noise is so clear INSIDE the truck. Makes me want to rip apart the interior.... :happysad:

Some noises can travel and really fool you as to their actual source location. Can't tell you how many I've heard one that you'd swear was right in the dash and ended up being out in the front end somewhere.

:wtf::nopity::D I finally figured the d**n thing out. I noticed that it seemed to do the same noise when the truck was rocking back and forth on the park position. I climbed under the truck and started to move the truck back and forth. I could hear the noise and see the engine/trans flexing. Sure enough, there is a clip that holds the tranny cooler lines located between the tranny and t-case. The d**n clip was rubbing on the body. I moved it up a couple of inches and VOILA!!! ALL GONE! The auto lords were great to me tonight....
