Turned on my 99 silverado and the ABS light came on and I heard this humming noise. I turned off my truck and it was still humming. So I went under there and pulled the plug. What's going on here? Please help.:D:)

Do you still have some warranty left???  How many miles are on your truck???

Maybe you can find a decent dealer to help you out for $cost$...

TurboShane-

I think there would be a lot of guys in here interested in reading your findings and results.  Hope you get it worked out and will relay to the Forum, what you do to solve the problem -

I got a friend that works at a dealership so hopefully I will beable to cut the price in half. Nobody else has had this problem on the board? I did a little searching on other boards and I found quite a few other people having this problem.

You probably already now the this--

My owners manual says a momentary motor is normal while testing the system, but if the (ABS) warning light

comes on then your ABS is not working, but if the Brake System Warning Light comes on then you probably don't have any brakes.

If you didn't try to drive your truck the way you drive your GN things would be easier.:)

What other truck boards have you found?

Mine did it and ran the battery down.  So I had to pull the fuse.  It did it at 65,000 miles.  The dealer said GM released a TSB on it and he replaced the ABS pump for nothing and I had no extended warranty.  My dealer stated he had replaced the pump in every '99 he sold.  Must have been a Kelsey-Hayes design flaw because the new one looks a little different.

Did it to me with 42,000 miles.

The dealer replaced the module. It is still under ext. warrantee. Otherwise the bill was 750 for the module and 250 labor.

I think it's very common as when I pulled the truck into the shop for other 'scheduled' warrantee work, a service manager immediately popped the hood and pulled the fuse. It went out on me in route to the dealership with 200 miles to go over mountainous roads. The brakes continued to work if your worried about that.

Got it fixed free of charge with 38,000 miles.  The EBCM shorted out. It seems fairly common as of late. But not that common yet. The service guy said several out of 5,000 trucks that they sold have went out.
