Heated Drivers seat

I am having a strage problem with my drivers heated seat. I can click on the "Hi" switch setting and after it starts to heat up, it will cool back down and not re-heat or it will heat back up for just a little bit and then cool back down? Also, sometimes I will have to turn the switch off and back on to "Hi" to get the seat to start heating. Any thoughts?

 

Truck is a NBS 2000 GMC.

The biggest problem we have with seat heaters is the heater grid going open. That would cause it to not work at all. I had one that had a resistence that was just a little too high, 7 ohms when it should be 5.5 ohms if I recall correctly, and it would come on, but shut off on its own pretty quickly.

Thanks for the reply, how long should it take to heat up? It seems like it takes my seats (both) forever to get warm?

A minute or two to get warm though you can probably detect a change within about 30 seconds.

 

Not much use for heated seats down here in south florida, so I don't have a whole bunch of experience with 'em.
