wax on white paint

anybody know any easier way to wax white, it is so hard to see the wax on it? thanks for any help

I just use a decent spray-on wax twice a year or so...Or whenever the water quits beading on the hood.

 

But my truck sees more than average dirt/sand/mud, so I'm not overly concerned with it being shiny. Too much work.

 

Reason number 413 on why white is a great truck color: You can't see the white wax residue.

White.......this is a tough one, I haven't found anything in the last 20 years that works good, other than carrying a rag around in my back pocket for a week after the wax job.

This might help, but have you noticed when you park your truck at night in a well lit parking lot you can see EVERYTHING you missed.

That's a great suggestion! Those amber lights in parking lots or in streets work wonders when it comes to finding left over wax residue. Or if you have any way of pulling your truck into your garage or a friends, the flourescent lights help too.

Easiest thing to do when you're outside in the sun is to just wipe the surface down until it feels smooth and there appears to be zero residue left. Walk the truck after you're done and make sure you got everything off.

A well-maintained finish helps as well, i.e claying. paint cleaner, siwrl/scratch removers, etc. Using products like these helps the residue come off easier too

I have had many white cars and trucks and never had a problem, do it inside, if you do it outside it makes it harder to see applying and removing, do a panel at a time, then move on to the next
