LOC - low input signal

My LOC is currently wired to the rear speaker wires in this connector which is located under the cup holders in my 04 GMC Sierra Ext. w/6 speaker bose.

In order to get any decent bass from the setup as is I have to pretty much max out the gain and bass boost on the amp.

I have 2 10" Pioneer TS-W105DVC's with 350/700w power handling and a Memphis PRD-1600? (definitely 1000w RMS@1ohm and thats how the speakers are wired).

Basically, I'm pretty sure that these subs should hit a lot harder than they will now and I shouldn't have to max out the gain and the bass boost.

I read a post on another forum( http://www.the12volt.com/installbay/forum_...s.asp?TID=37872 ) which said that in the 04 Sierra w/bose that the rear speaker wires were filtered some how and to get the proper output you needed to wire the LOC to the front speaker wires.

Is there anyone who can shed some light on this?

Thanks!

All these people talking about LOC this and line output converter that and there's noone who can point me in the right direction?

Where did you folks wire your LOC in?

Thanks a bunch!

P.S. That was a joke and I certainly was not trying to be rude.

The wires in that connector I showed you are after the amp, they are the speaker level wires, they are not the low level pre-amp wires. Your LOC should work on those wires. I posted a new diagram with the front wires on your other thread, but I'll post it here too.

Sorry BB. I didn't notice the other post. Well, I just checked it out and I was thinking that it was after the amp as well. Wonder why this doesn't work right?

Should I seriously have to have the amp gain and bass boost maxed out to get bass?

Even with the settings close to max it doesn't bass very hard and it doesn't hit very hard either. Also, LOTS of songs sound really BAD after adding the subs.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but bass isn't supposed to make rap music sound worse than without.

I've changed every setting on the amp including low pass freq and subsonic filter freq, and I fail to see the solution unless its related to some kind of bose filtering.

The Bose filtering the rear channels thing seems bogus to me because I've read lots of posts of other users here who use theirs on the rear channels without problems.

In short, I'm stumped!

Sorry that I don't know more about the exact bose system that come in these trucks, I refuse to own anything of thiers but thats a different story. Anyway, Is there a sub in this thing, if so youmust get on those wires to be properly crossed-over. The signal going to just regular speakers will not have enuff of a lower freq. signal to use for a sub. So riddle me that back and let me know if you have a bose sub in there and if thats what your hooked to. I'll keep working with ya to get it

In short, I'm stumped!

Ya, there's a sub in the console. I changed the LOC over to the front speaker channels and the output seems better, but not quite right. I think I'll order that Pac adapter for my truck when I get some cash. Maybe that'll take care of that...
