Mirror question part II

Spent several hours Friday nite trying to remove the passenger mirror on my 99 tahoe. Is there a trick to unlocking that wire harness connection that sits through the mirror mounting hole. It would of been nice if they have left about 5 or 6 inches of extra wire. I was unable to fish my fingers down in the mirror mounting hole to unlock that harness. Then once I'm able to unlock it, I would imagine the other end is going to fall down inside the door frame. Any ideas ??

Just tie some wire or string around the door side of the harness so you can hold it after you unplug the clip. It has a little tab that you flip up and pull the plug out.
