i own a 99 silverado, 2 wheel drive,5.3l. i have recently changed the throttle positioning sensor because of eratic idle. that solved that problem. now as of this week my pickup is sometimes hard to start when the engine is hot. it fires right up when it is cold but i have to grind for a min to get it going when it is up to operating temp. i would appreciate any thughts or tips. thanks

My truck is doing the same thing as of this weekend. I have a 2000 Yukon and it starts just fine when ever the engine has time to sit and get cold. However if I just run in a store I have to grind it to start it.

I would really appreciate any advice also.

My truck is having the same hard starting problem when it is hot. I have a 2000 GMC Sierra, 5.3 L with 99,000 miles. I changed the spark plugs, fuel filter, and PVC valve about (3) months ago but the problem didn't show up until about (3) weeks ago. Any advice as to waht to look for would be great

Possibly a leaking fuel pressure regulator. Under the conditions in which this occurs, pull the vacuum line of the regulator and look for wetness in the hose or coming out of the regulator pipe.
