1999 Silverado Factory Delco radio question

I currently have the factory Delco CD radio in my 1999 1500 and ALL of the button lights have burnt out (over the last 6 months)-unbelievable!

 

ANYWAY, I would like to get a newer model Delco CD player, from '03-up(?) models, with RDS. Can a newer RDS equipped Delco replace the older '99 model (with regards to the wiring harness, speed/volume control, and RDS feature)?

'03 and up use a data buss that the '99 doesn't have so - no go.

 

You may be able to use an '02 (someone help me out here) but you'll be good for sure with an '01 or earlier.

I fixed the problem. Went to Radio Shack and bought 10 flashlight bulbs and soldered them in where the burnt out ones were. Works/Looks like brand new. Only spent about $9.00 and the bulbs have a 10,000 hr. life - so I'm good to go for awhile.
