Ok, if you look back a couple of posts ago I asked some questions about any gotch'yas on my manifold repair. Well, the whole thing went well, no problems just some elbo grease.

I thought as long as I'm "in there" I would do the plugs, wires, cap, rotor, egr passage way clean...blaa blaa blaa....

I get it all back together and now I can detect a flat spot on the acceleration curve. Seems like as I depress the accelerator it prefers to GO above 2k but then upon shifting, thus dropping down to 1700, it stumbles a little (not missing) and as I press the peddle no change in performance until I gets just so far then wham, it hits again. The acceleration isn't linear at all...

Also, why do they restrict the collant flow on # 7 and 8 cylinders?

Averything is hooked up and I checked for arcing in the dark under power (wife had a chance to nail me if she wanted to. I had her do a 1700 rpm power brake while I watched under to hood...ooooo, scary eh?).

Thanks.

Ok, this just doesn't seem right. 48 people have read this topic and no one has an idea? Curiously I had the same problem on my 93 Caprice after I changed the cap, rotor and wires so theres a clue but what? This is a straight foward exchange.... what am I missing?

Sounds like a dirty fuel filter. Also check for vacuum leaks in case you missed something when you had it apart last.
