Z28 Speed Limiters?

Question

I was informed that 2001 Z28s were speed limited to 125 mph. The gentleman that told me this claimed GM shipped Z28s with two sets of tires, one Z and one H, and the H rated cars are limited to 125. If this is true, how would one go about bringing the speed limited back to 160 where it belongs?

heh, thanks everyone for the replies.

Nah I wasn't plannin' on actually doing this, I was just curious why GM did this. Didn't seem to make much sense IMO.

You'd need some sort of "aftermarket" solution for this. Couldn't do it through GM. Why would you need to go over 125 mph anyway?

The 88 MPH was only achieved with the help of the FLUX capacitor converting 2.2 jig-a-watts into the Motor. On a serious Note Hypertech’s power programmer will take off the high speed cut out. Its part number is 30025. Summit Racing has it for 399.95. And it's on the shelf.

1.21 gigawatts.

2.2 would cause the flux capacitor to asplode, causing a rift in the space-time continuum, thereby rendering existance moot in the past. Which would make the future quite futile to strive for. So we would be stuck in the present forever.
