I have a 1998 Silverado Z71 with a 5.7L. I recently redid my exhaust and remove the flowmaster and ran straightpipes with 2 1/4" pipe. I had a buddy tell me that it could be bad on the engine. Do you have any advice? I was thinking of putting more Flowmasters on, but dont know which ones to use. I want a deep sound, without so much cackling. Any input you have can be helpful. Thank you

The only "bad" thing that I think could happen is to possibly upset the oxygen sensors and maybe EGR flow due to insufficient backpressure. If you don't get o2 DTC's or an EGR DTC, you're probably okay. I don't see any mechanical harm coming from running straight pipes.
