marker lamps on 2005 2500 hd

I just ordered a 2005 Chevy 2500 HD duramax and it doesnt have the cab marker lamps. I need those to pull some of the loads I do and was wondering if anyone had any idea how much it costs to get those put on. Whether by a dealership or private shop. As a factory option its only $55, but I am ssure since I screwed up and forgot about them when ordering Ill have to pay for it now. Thanks!

I had a quote of 425 bucks. from a private shop. He called the local GM dealer to get a price and the GM dealer said that there is no kit, and you have to buy everything seperatly. I didn't like that price. Check Cabellas website, they have the lights for 69 bucks. Here is a step buy step guide that a member over at dieselplace.com did for installing them. I haven't done them, as I'm not keen on drilling into my roof so Im just going to save up the money and have them and factory fog lights installed(you can get them off of Ebay for 80 bucks OEM from GM)

If you do decide to use the oem lights, get the factory harness. Mine (w/o onstar, w/o ant) was $67. Well worth the price for not having to splice 5 connectors, and tap into the park lamp circuit.

The harness is 'plug and play." It runs from the driver side marker lamp across, down the passenger side A pillar and plugs into the passenger side electrical center on the side of the dash. Takes all of 5 mins to plug in.

Drilling into the roof is not as bad as it sounds.... The key is to measure 3 times drill once. Once you drill the holes, get some touchup paint, or (a pint of basecoat will work as well) and apply it to the bare metal with an artist brush. And bye bye rust worries.
