DeezNutz Posted June 6, 2005 Posted June 6, 2005 My 4 channel amp is cutting out when i turn up the volume, what is causing this? the amp is 560w / rms 160 x 2 it is 2ohm stable and it is pushing a 10" sub. I have the 4ohm dvc sub wired in parllel. i don't understand this
J-rod Posted June 7, 2005 Posted June 7, 2005 Is the amp actually cutting off (as in loosing power) or is it just going into "protect mode"? Does it do it only when you have it cut up ... even when the truck is sitting still? I would guess it's either a poor connection somewhere along the line or it isn't getting enough juice. What size power / ground wires do you have and how long is the ground? Your ground wire should be at least the same size as the +12 constant and should be as short as possible (most suggestion 18" or less). Maybe that'll get ya pointed in the right direction anyway.
