05 Sierra CREW CAB KNOCKING NOISE

I have an 05 crew cab z-71 with a very annoying problem. When braking and going over even the slightest bumps there is a knocking sound coming from the vehicle. It sounds like it is coming from the rear end. It even happens when in neutral.

Check to see if you have anything under the back seat... I once had a glass Jiffy peanut butter jar fall out of a grocery bag and get trapped under the rear seat of my 04 crew cab, it clunked on bumps and acceleration and stopping as it rolled back and forth and hit the seat frame, it sounded like it was coming from the rear end also, I even thought it was my transfer case! I found the jar by mistake when I made it home - glad it was just that and not something else!
