door locks ?

does anyone know how to get the door locks to unlock when the the key is turned off?  I know the feature is on a friends 96.

I think that R&D may make an override, or the dealer would be able to reprogram it for a "nominal" fee I'm sure.

The auto door lock feature in the new Silverados isn't as sophisticated as some of the ones in other GM vehicles.  You only have the couple of options that are described in your manual.  Some of the other GM vehicles like my wifes Olds can be programmed with several options.  I have it set to lock when the van goes into gear and unlock when it goes back into park...  I wish I could setup my truck the same way...

Here's the kit from R&D on my truck.  If I remember correctly, it was around $16.00, including S&H.  It unlocks your door when you put the gear selector into park.

On my 2000 Chev. Z ext. cab they lock whenever I reach 15 MPH and unlock when I pull the key out.
