20 inch rims on 2000 silverado Z71

I heard through the grapevine that there was a sevice bulletin that went out about putting 20 inch wheels on certian year trucks and that there was a risk of breaking something.......not sure what though.

Has anyone heard of this?............and if so, what was the problem and does my 2000 Silverado Z71 1500 fall into the problem year?

As long as it's not a crew cab, you can put 20's on it with no problem.

My truck is an extended cab, only has the third door..........would that be the same as a crew cab?

 

And just out of curiousity, why is it that 20's cant go on the crew cab?

After a certain VIN in 2005, it's okay to put 20's on a crew cab. He has a 2000 and an extended cab, so none of this applies.
