Alternatives to body lift

I was browsing along on ebay for deals on a BL and there are alot of people advertising using reindexed keys along with taller blocks for the rear to acheive a 2-3" lift. Has anyone tried this? If this will work, it looks like a better route then the hassle of a body lift.

Ford keys will get you around 2" (I persnally got 1 1/2" and could have gone more but the truck was "level" at that point) and 3" blocks will give you another inch in the rear (since you replace the factory blocks which are 2"). There are several people on the board who have done this, you'll have to search around.
