Fender Flare Painting

Can anyone tell me the proper way to paint the fender flares used on a 2001 Sierra?

 

I have a set that I need to change the color to match my truck, and I want to do it right the first time.

 

A friend of mine told me about a "Bulldog Adhesion Promoter" that you can get at Wal Mart that can make the color-coat stick better to the plastic surface.

 

The flares are now white, I need to change them to pewter.

Why not just take'm to a local paint/body shop? for about 175.00 you can get'em primed and painted.....Ya, I know you wanna do it yourself, nice paint work is best left to the pros.....otherwise just prime them and paint'em...

If you are painting plastic, go to your local automotive paint store and get the right stuff. Stay away from the Wal-Mart stuff, do it right, do it once.
