I guess I lied :)

I was asking everyone for advice in deciding on an 8.1/Ally and said I wasn't going to get it. I talked to the dealer today and told him I didn't want it. He obviously got desparate and didn't want to lose a sale. He ended up lowering the price another $1500. :D My only guess is that because it has the 8.1 and a 4.10 rear, nobody wants it because of MPG. The MPG won't bother me as my customers pay for my gas (indirectly, but they still pay for it).

I ended up getting an 04 leftover (78 miles on it). 2500HD ECLB SLE, MSRP of $39,500 for $24,500. I know I said it wasn't what I wanted, but how could I resist that number? The only things about the truck that I don't like are the color (white... too hard to keep clean for me), no leather, and no sunroof (was a sunroof an option on the 04's?). Other than that, it has everything I wanted.

I can't wait to get her on the road and see what the 8.1 and Ally can do. When I test drove it, you could really feel the extra power it has compared to the 6.0. I'll be picking her up tomorrow.

I still can't believe I'm getting this truck for this price, seems too good to be true.

Why do u say white is hard to keep clean it is the easist to keep clean of all the colors and what you need leather for what type of work do you do that ur customoers pay for it. and what do u need a sunroof for in a truck.

Maybe it was just the truck I had before (98 Dodge...POS), but it was white and it was impossible to keep clean. Dirt would get embedded in the paint and you couldn't get it out unless you compounded it. I'm hoping that it was just the crappy paint on the Dodge. My current truck is Pewter and it's the easy thing in the world to keep it clean looking.

I'm a general contractor and I factor in the cost of gas on every job that I bid. Leather and sunroof? Well, it's a personal preference, but when you spend as much as 12 hours a day driving around in your truck (fortunatley, it's not every day, but it's often enough), you want it as comfortable as possible. I have a thing for leather seats and sunroofs... I love them.

well from my experience and tht may be little but chevy white is very good

i have a white S-10 and you barely can tell its dirty until you wash it and then its bright so i think you will like white from now on lol cause i sure as hell do. Thats a good buy for that truck. well if u r a contractor would u rather tear up leath or cloth id rather tear up cloth personally and sunroof is just another thing to go wrong.

Tearing it up isn't an issue. I sub out the majority of my work and seldom pick up a tool or get dirty anymore . I'm more of a supervisor and consultant (Yuck...I'd rather get dirty), so the truck is a more like an office. I do pick up a lot of heavy loads with it though, which is why I'm happy about the 8.1. The guys at the yard load it, and laborers on the job unload, so I never get dirty, so the interior won't get torn up. The interior on my current truck looks as good today as the day I bought it.

Congrats on the new ride! :D

My '92 is "Metallic Teal Blue", and it stays clean for about 2 hours after a good washing...The '02 stays clean enough for me, until I put it in the mud every month or so.

I've had lots of different trucks, and my first choice is always white for that very reason.

if ya really want the sun roof, you can invest 1200 or so out of the 1500 that you saved and get a sunroof, dont feel too bad about the cloth in that truck, gm's cloth is comfortable compared to other cloths in the dodges and chevy's, does your truck have a center console or is a full bench seat?

I would have jumped it too... that's a heck of a deal, CONGRATS!! As far as white being difficult to keep clean, I would have to disagree. I have had numerous white cars and IMO they show dirt alot less than most colors (except for silver). I still have a white T/A and the only way you know it's nasty is when you wash it and see the black water run off :D . Enjoy the new ride :D .

Man, what a killer deal !!!!!! Good for you !!! Congrats !!!!

I've had two white cars, one a Buick and the other a hunda... AND THEY SUCKED !!!!! Had to clay bar them every-other wash to get the specks out. I bought both used, so didn't have a chioce. I HATE white !!!!!!!

white is the best color quad. You just had bad cars but white is by far the easist to keep clean like curly said you only know its dirty when you wash it. Tell us how the truck has been workin if ya can.

So y do you think your white sucked on your cars i know honda white isnt good but normally gm white is. I have had 3 white cars/trucks and all are easier to keep clean than my red cars.
