rpr383 Posted August 5, 2005 Posted August 5, 2005 Has any one tryed out these guyes out. Have a HD2500 6.0/4:10.Sounds like a good price and good feedback on the light duty forum. I am very interested in it. I know every one with a tune from all tuners and are very happy. But I am still a skeptic. I am willing to try one! My truck is a chevy03,and the seat of the pants meater says its a SLUG. It pulls a 30ft 5er fine, but to drive it is boreing! I will need a gas mileage tune. Will I notice enough to be worth it,and after the tune what kind of mileage will get? Truck is stock.
03GMC2500HD Posted August 5, 2005 Posted August 5, 2005 Scraping up the $157.50 this weekend to order one on Monday. He is on a number of sites and all the feedback has been the same...positive. What kinda mileage you gettin pulling the 30ftr? I pull a 14' enclosed with lawn mowers in it and i get a whopping 8mpg. I have a HPPIII, K&N FIPK and soon to have Corsa exhaust. Really don't think there is much you can do for the mpg!
builderpaul Posted August 5, 2005 Posted August 5, 2005 I got one 1500miles ago. I just got it to remove the torque managment, better low end torque, better fuel economy useing 87 gas, setup for 05 electirc fans. Old milage 12.7, new milage (set up the DIC on bussness) is 14.8. Performance tune doesn't make sense to me. This is a heavy, over 7000lb, work truck. If I wanted performace I would have a short box 1/2 ton.
dannyukonxl Posted August 5, 2005 Posted August 5, 2005 im getting mine today !!! hopefully, i know hes been backed up massively with these tunes, i'll post back if i get it
curly Posted August 6, 2005 Posted August 6, 2005 I have had mine for a few hundred miles now and really like it, well worth the money. I was not trying to have a "race truck" or anything since it is a heavy work truck but the additional throttle response is nice . You will enjoy it... go for it! Jesse has great customer service!
rpr383 Posted August 6, 2005 Author Posted August 6, 2005 Where can I get one? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You can find them at WWW.wait4meperformance.com.I am getting about 8.5-9 mpg 30ft5er,and 10.5-11.5 emty. All really want is to get a little better mpg,and not to feel like a SLUG when I drive emty. These are big trucks and you cant expect a miracle! I am buying a core for $50.00 so I can keep my stock tune.

olds403 Posted August 6, 2005 Posted August 6, 2005 Where is a good place to get a core ? What should I look for ? I am getting 12.5 empty with 25K miles on a 2003HD crew cab
curly Posted August 7, 2005 Posted August 7, 2005 Try car-parts.com, maybe you can find a local salvage yard which has a core. I believe all the yards listed ship parts to each other also. I know there was a local yard in Greenville, NC (Foss Auto Salvage) which showed having 2 cores, one of which is in my truck .
3500in nc Posted August 7, 2005 Posted August 7, 2005 sounds great an ive been talkin to the guy and he seems to know what he is doin so im gettin mine as soon as i sell my superchips unit Hope this wakes up my 8.1 ally combo an gets this dually movin Just to let yall know if you dont want to find ur own core than he dose have them or atleast i know he can get one and can just add that into the price (not much more) ill post results when i get my tune oh BTW the email for him is [email protected] i didnt think i saw it posted so figured id help
03HD Posted August 9, 2005 Posted August 9, 2005 I've had my tune for a week and a half now and absolutely love it. I just ordered a standard performance tune for 87 octane. I don't have a dyno, but Jesse's claim of 24 rear-wheel horsepower sure is there according to my backside! Also, shifts are much firmer, speedometer recalibrated for tire size, and most importantly 2-2.5 mpg. I have run 3 tanks of gas (went on vacation) and am seeing it consistantly. This is highly recommended and sure to put a smile on your face the first test drive...it did mine!!!

Did you notice any actule improvements other than the noise they make. How long did it take to ship you your tune?
03HD Posted August 9, 2005 Posted August 9, 2005 [Thanks 03HD,sounds like the same truck as mine. I see you did other mods. Did you notice any actule improvements other than the noise they make. How long did it take to ship you your tune? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I didn't see any improvements in fuel economy with the K&N or the Throttle Body Spacer and only a modest improvement in performance. Granted I have not done exhaust yet (I'm going to go with Magnaflow) and maybe with intake and exhaust at the same time it would be better, but even the way it is I was amazed when I got the Tune back. I can't express how much better the truck runs. I shipped the PCM on Tuesday UPS, Jesse was out of town on Thursday and Friday, he Shipped it Priority Mail on Monday and I got it back on Friday. It sucked having to drive the wife's car for a week and a half, but well worth it in the end!
olds403 Posted September 13, 2005 Posted September 13, 2005 I got my reprogrammed ECM installed today. Well worth the money. Its like a whole new truck. It will break the tires loose now. Very happy with the tune for my 2003 2500HD. Two thumbs up !!
