I sold the ZR2. I need something with better MPG, wanted a warranty and a truck isn't a neccessity, even in NY. I'm now waiting for my '06 Grand Prix to be built. Couldn't find one on a lot within 1200 miles like I wanted, '05 or '06, I can get the GM Supplier discount anyway so I ordered. Took me 2 weeks to sell the truck, but it's off my hands, the GP was ordered Thurs. or Fri., now I wait. In the meantime, I get a taste of what life will be like, I'm driving my mom's 2000 Regal.

 

Here's what I'm getting, the major stuff anyway:

 

2006 Grand Prix, black paint, ebony cloth interior

 

3.8L V-6, 4-speed auto (sorry, no S/C).

 

Onstar, XM, MP3-capable CD player

 

4 wheel ABS disc brakes

 

Preferred package, which includes lighted vanity mirrors, fold-flat passenger seat, full 5-button trip computer, full power driver's seat, remote start, steering wheel radio controls, leather-wrapped wheel and shift knob, premium lighting package (not sure on the EXACT meaning of this) and chrome interior accents.

 

Security package which includes head curtain side airbags, enhanced traction control (brake-modulated) and tire inflation monitor

 

Sport package which includes 16" polished-aluminum wheels, dual round exhaust tips and fog lamps.

 

In 2006 the GT becomes what the GTP was and the base model essentially becomes what the GT used to be. I don't need the S/C, so I got the "base" model.

That's ok. At least you kept it in the family (GM). You'll probably get over 20 mpg which is cool and have a bitchin' car. My folks have a '98 Regal GS. It gets over 22 even with the SC. You'll love the GP.

you'll love the grand prix. I loved my 00 grand prix, the power is incredible.

 

I just couldn't deal with not being able to haul stuff in it.

My friends 05 is getting 29mpg. Not bad at all plus it is comfortable and has room in it.
