Employee Pricing

Well, Although I have said that I would not buy a new Silverado because they were ugly, well I am looking at a 2005 two tone 4x4 with a 5.3, 3.73 rears, auto tranny, locking rear, and other good stuff. $27k, is this a good price? What do you guys think?

Sounds about right, if it is a LS. I bought my '99 Sierra 2wd SLE for about the same price 6 years ago - with GMS pricing.

If the 8th digit of the vin is a T, its a 5.3 non flex fuel.....if it is a Z, its a flex fuel....down south, we have had a LOT of trouble out of the flex fuel systems..

Sounds good to me...my fully loaded GMC SLE was about that price before my trade. The aluminum 5.3 is awesome, 310hp and runs really great.

I would say if you have the chance, go for it you will enjoy it. And the employee price is the real employee price so they shouldnt be bs'in you there, just gotta work a deal on a trade if you will have one.

Good Luck

I am not up on all of the new stuff, what is the flex fuel option good for?

I *think* it will allow you to run ethanol or something like that. Looking at a new truck eh Mike? You should get yoursef an SS with the LQ9 6.0 and really tear up the pavement!

looked for a SS, but there are none around this area and they do not have the rebates. The SS for 06 is called the VortexMax. I found one of those. The Silverado I found has the Alumnium 5.3, 310hp. Other than the fact that is is slow off the line, it does have nice pickup while running. The first thing to be changed is the computer. Gotta get rid of the torque managment.

Not much, according to some people  I believe it allows you to run 85/15 ethanol fuel (15% gasoline), but someone may correct me. I only know of a couple stations around Detroit selling E85.

Personally I'll keep driving a gas engine until somehow, someone manages to get the oil companies extracted from the backdoors of the US government. Until then I don't think anything short of complete exhaustion of oil supplies is going to get us off of petrol. Don't wanna deal with any possible problems from a flexfuel system

I payed 27k for mine in febuary before all these rebates, looks like i woudnt of done to much better with the employee pricing after all  .But overall for a over 35k sticker price i would say 27k is a damm good price and deffenetly go for the h.o. 5.3 not only does it have extra h.p. but it saves some weight because these heavy pigs can use all the help they can get!

And are you sure it's got 3.73 gears i thought they were not in use for the 05 lineup every 05 i looked at was either 3.42 or 4.10 and with gas prices i went with the 3.42 going from a s10 the gear difference is not annoying to me and i get about 20mpg on the highway easy!
