catalytic converter removal

Gonna be running duel exhaust on my 03 2500HD with a 6.0 gas engine.

My question is does anyone know if takiing my cat converters off will screw with my trucks computer or cause engine lights to come on? My o2 sensors are before the converters. I am sure the truck will breath better, anyone done this yet?

Mine has 02 sensors before and after the cats. Might wanna double check. I've read before that there are 02 sensor deletes that make the computer think it's reading properly. Not sure where to get them though.

You will not see or feel any performance gains by removing the cats. You engine will not necessarily breath any better. I would humbly advise against it.

Your truck is set up to use the info from the O2 sensors to constantly adjust for optimum air fuel ratio.

Loss of cats=loss of back presssure which = loss of torque. You will build more horsepower in the upper rpm range but you will lose tons of torque in low end. Its torque that moves these 7000# trucks not hp. Also it is illegal and can face a $10,000 federal fine, many states are now doing a check for removed/ gutted cats.

I'd like to get rid of the after the cat o2 sensors, I'm a fraid it's going to give me a head ache in the future. Got to take it to the dealer to get them to figure out why I'm getting codes from my 02 sensors. something about a o2 sensor heater.

It shouldnt mess with the computer on a gasser...but it will definetly throw a code and illuminate the CEL on LLY Duramax trucks...there is a fix for it. Im removing my cat as soon as the "code blocker" arrives... Lowers EGT's by about 50 degrees and makes a better exhaust sound!!
