Torque Management / Abuse mode

This may be dumb question but can anyone tell me if TORQUE MANAGEMENT and ABUSE MODE are the same thing. If they are different could tell how they are. Thanks

From what I understand the TQ management is just limiting the power to your wheels sort of like traction control, Abuse mode keeps you from ruffing up the driveline like when you hold it in 1st gear and it automatically shifts for you. Since I had both these things removed from pcm it's a lot more fun to drive.

Pretty much agree. I thought there were two tables for torque management, one for the engine and one for the trans. Abuse mode I thought was stricktly for the trans. In addition to dramatically retarding the timing (thus reducing power) when it senses driveline abuse, I believe it also alters the operation of the trans to limit the abuse. On my truck, after the 1-2 shift, it would fall on it's face for about 2 seconds and then you could hear and feel the power come back.

 

I will FULLY agree however that when I got a tune and removed both modes, the truck got WAAAAY more fun to drive.
