Electric Fans on a 6.0L

I have an 02 2500 with the 6.0L. I've considered in the past at putting a set of electric fans on to replace the engine driven fan.

 

Anyone done this with their 6.0, and what kit did ya use?

 

See any performance gains or MPG gains?

Since you have a 6.0 you already have a 34" radiator, so I'd go with a set of 05 efans...they'll bolt right in. You'll just need to wire them up, or buy one of the ready-made harnesses from PCMforLess or Nelson Performance, and have the PCM tuned to turn the fans on and off, which can also be done by either of the above mentioned tuners. I have a PCMforLess tune with Nelson harness. Since my truck is a 1500 I had to upgrade to a 34" radiator which I got from the Radiator Barn.com. You can find complete 05 factory take-offs at G&R Auto Parts for about $200, Nelson harness is about $100 shipped, and a full pcm tune is about $250 from PCMforLess.
