S10 BRAKE LIGHT PROBLEMS

1997 S10 BLAZER, ONLY THIRD BRAKE LIGHT WORKS, GOT UNDER STEERING COLUME AND WIGGLED THE BRAKE SWITCH WIRES BRAKE LIGHTS WORKED FOR ABOUT A WEEK , CHANGED THE BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH AGAIN WORKED FOR ABOUT ANOTHER 2 WEEKS. NOW , BACK TO THIRD BRAKE LIGHT ONLY...... ANYONE WITH A FIX FOR THIS? THANKS, ROB

Sounds like your hazzard switch in your turn-signal switch is bad.

Call your local GM dealer and have your VIN handy,There was a RECALL on some models for this,But it mostly affected 2000-2002 models years,so yours probably is not involved.

If they give you a hard time,PM me your VIN and I'll run it and tell you if yours is involved or not.

If yours is not involved you might have to buy the whole turn-signal switch,also known as the "Multi-Function" switch.
