Lowest Miles On A Chevy Truck

I've got a '63 Chevy C30 panel truck with only 12,500 miles on it. It was a fire department rescue vehicle. I guess they didn't have too many rescues :exclaim:

I'd like to nominate shaner's HD for being the lowest mielage daily driver ever. I mean, how many people do you know actually change there oil because the 3 months is up and not 3,000 miles. The trucks going to be 5 years old before the engine is even broken in.

My 72 GMC Jimmy that my dad bought new has only 79,000 miles on it...and it was a daily driver for 12 years.

Better yet, though, my cousin has a 1994 1500 4x4 extended cab 6.5 turbo diesel that he bought new. He has a company truck that he drives all the time. I commented the other day that I never see him driving his truck and then asked him how many miles he had on it. He said "Oh...about sixty nine

...hundred and something." Thats averaging about 850 miles a year!

Well my Gran's 1996 Chevy Silverado Z71 Ext. Cab had 29,000 miles on it when she sold it October of 2000 to my uncle (her son). It now has a whopping 34,000 miles on it! LOL Her 2001 Silverado LT Ext. Cab Z71 has 5500 miles on it and it is 16 months old!

Sorry Chevy, I didnt see this until now, would have been more supportive of your effort to bring this Shaners/mileage issue to a head. As for his engine not even being broken in? His KEY isnt even broken in!

I picked mine up a couple of weeks ago with 2 miles on it. Just turned it 1300 tonite.

02 GMC 2500LD 2WD, Std Cab, Long Box, 6.0, 5 Speed Manual,3:73's. So far no problems!!!

Been reading this site for months doing research to figure out what I wanted. It was a big help. Appreciate all the opinions, so thought I'd better sign up.

In 1979 I bought a '74 full-size Chevy CK with 3600 miles on it. I bought it from a relative's estate after he passed away. Believe it or not it was his only vehicle -- he obviously didn't drive too much. I put 20,000 miles on it and sold it for more than I paid for it. It was a real stripper though - no air, no radio, no carpet, 350 2-bbl. At least it was an automatic.
